37 St John’s Road, Glebe

Milk Crate Theatre creates challenging and inspiring theatre with the homeless and disadvantaged community. Milk Crate Theatre is one you never forget. The performances are unique - part straight play, part forum and part playback theatre. This provides some of the most moving, warm hearted and often hilarious nights of theatre one can experience. A team of professional actors perform a real life story that has been collected from someone locally. Not only are the stories real life stories, but the playback style means that critical decisions for the characters in the show are repeated and opened to the audience to discuss other options. Those options are voted on and then we get to act them out! Talk about choose your own adventure! Everyone is a potential performer, all opinions are heard, issues are thrashed out live on stage and finally everyone celebrates together with afternoon tea and chats after the show.
